holadella.hu shows a single number: how much public money has verifiably been recovered under Hungary’s asset-recovery program.

The chart counts register entries; amounts live in the Stated amounts band, per claimant.

What the counter counts

An amount enters the counter only when its repayment is verified by a final court ruling or an official source. Admission takes two independent checks separated in time: the exact figure must appear verbatim in the official source, and the source is re-checked before admission. Every entry’s source and decision path is traceable. The verified total is never expressed as a share of the stated estimates.

The promise log

The promise log records statutory obligations and public pledges, always with a source. A pledge is recorded only when its maker said it themselves; what others state about someone belongs in the Stated amounts band. Row statuses come from a closed vocabulary: pending, fulfilled, deadline passed, withdrawn. When an entry restates an earlier pledge, it folds under the restated pledge’s row with its own permanent anchor; the tallies count the pledge once. A withdrawn row carries the retraction’s date and source; if the deadline had already passed before the withdrawal, both facts are shown. Every update run checks the log’s open rows against incoming sources; a fulfilled or withdrawn mark can rest on an official source only. Fulfilment requires its own verifying source; an overdue row means only that the deadline passed and we found no source verifying fulfilment — a finding about sources, never a judgment. When a deadline is inferred from a rule rather than quoted verbatim, the derivation is stated next to it.

Reference points

The reference points are official amounts valid for 2026: the gross minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage, certain central-budget appropriations and the national public-procurement thresholds. Every amount appears verbatim in the official source given next to it. The comparison sentence appears once the verifiably recovered total reaches a row used as a unit of measure (an hour, a day, a week or a month of minimum wage, an appropriation); the multiple is rounded to one decimal and recomputed from the counter’s current value on every update. A reference point whose validity expires is marked superseded and leaves the comparison.

Sources

Official sources: statutes, gazettes, authorities, courts. Press sources: registered outlets operating under editorial responsibility. A claim naming a person requires an official source or two independent press sources. For every entry we store the source link, the publication date, the capture time and the verbatim quote carrying the fact. A named source appears only with its link. When a source link carries the name of a person we do not display by name, that link never reaches the site; an entry with no linkable source at all stays off the site until a linkable source arrives or the naming conditions are met. Every update run re-checks this automatically, and the moment the condition is met the entry appears in the register on its own. The source is stored all the same.

Publication

The site updates automatically. Every update passes machine checks before publication; if a check fails, the site does not update and keeps serving the last good version.

What the site does not do

• It does not judge: it reports statuses, never verdicts of its own.
• It does not predict: the future appears only as statutory deadlines.
• It does not rewrite the past: content fixes appear as new, dated entries. Requests to erase personal data are handled separately, case by case, as described on the privacy page (Hungarian).
• It publishes no number without a source and never rounds for effect.
• It shows no ads, runs no tracking code, collects no visitor data of its own, and accepts no money in any form. The site itself sets no cookies; the serving network may set one short-lived technical cookie for security, unusable for visitor tracking. The front page's "mark as read" button records the time in your browser's local storage (localStorage), and every later visit refreshes it until you forget the mark; that value never leaves your device.

Reporting an error

If you find an error, report it as described on the corrections page (Hungarian). Under our self-imposed deadline we respond substantively within five working days, and the fix appears as a public, dated entry.
